Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Router Problem

So basically, I've noticed lately that my internet at home is quite slow.

The computer I'm using is connected via wifi to a Netgear WGR614v9 router, which receives the net through our UPC provided cable modem.

Normally during the evening things start crawling. Upon restarting the Netgear router, things speed up.

I tried updating the firmware, but that did nothing.

Is it time to buy a new wifi router?

You have to find out where the bottleneck is.. it could be the wireless connectivity, or it could be that you are using the broadband at peak times... OR it could be an issue with your computer (i.e. viruses, spyware etc) or an issue with your router...

I would start connecting to the router with a cable (instead of wifi) and see if it is any quicker...

Had a similar problem and your in the same area as myself, try switching your dns to opendns or googles dns, mine wasn't as sluggish in the evenings after I switched.

    Hmm.

See the thing is it's slow up until I restart it. Then it's fine. That points to an issue with the router itself and nothing else...
