strange text receied a few times

i have an lg gt540 and have started to get the following text from a number i don't know (im on meteor btw) "Keep this message From:Stolen phone IMEI (imei number is given here then and it is not my IMEI) Anyone know what this is, have googled it but seem to get different answers. Hoping it is not a virus! thanks

May not be stolen, it could just have a new SIM put in.

Call the number.
