    Saw them too there myself!

Best band of all time is the Beatles, no question. You just never get tired of hearing their songs.

This is most true of their stuff from '66 onwards.
Even 30 years after first hearing it, I still dig it.

I love The Who though. The fact that they portrayed the feelings of intense angry & dissaffected young men, such as I was many years ago......

Well, nobody else does it better...:D

Band: The Beatles followed by Oasis.
Musician: Noel Gallagher followed by Bob Dylan.

Luke Kelly, The Who, The Killers, Clancy Brothers, Dubliners, Eminem are all up there as well, though.

Special mention to the Pecker Dunne :D

    A forgotten band nowadays..:(

Loved them as a teen. Went to see them at Slane in 1986.

God, it's hard to believe that they were so big then & even more unbeleiveble that Freddie was Gay!

Those were the days my friends.......

I'm not sure if there my favourite but Crystal Swing are pretty awesome. Can't stop listening to them atm.
They will definitely go down as one of the greatest groups of all time.

Seems funny in retrospect, but that's just the way it was in those days.

Gay things just weren't thought about then.

    Mad innit?

Too right! I sometimes even have to question my narrow-minded views on incest when I listen to heartfelt classics like this one....

I was going to try to be hip and ironic, but I'm too tired.
    I love U2.
Yeah, it pisses me off that most of the people who go to their Irish gigs are not familiar with 'Party Girl', but that's what happens when you have a nation of new money shallowness.

I'd link to a U2 video, but not many would watch it.
Instead I'll link to my second favourite band, which changes on a daily basis.
Today it's Belly because I'm working in a house owned by a chick who looks like Tanya Donelly in her prime.

Years ago Tanya Donelly was being harrassed by an obsessed fan and rather than go to the cops she agreed to meet him for dinner.Toward the end of the meal she handed the guy a piece of paper with a phone number on it. He asked what it meant. She said "that's the number of the guy I am going to pay 20 thousand dollars to kill you....do you have 20 thousand dollars?"...the stalker said "no"....and she replied "then I guess I won't be hearing from you again".....and she didn't....

As I've said before, The Beatles are the best band ever!!!!!!

In their mind at the time, they only looked up to 2 other acts really.

Namely, Bob Dylan (I was never that much of a fan) & The Beach Boys.

Brian Wilson was a true musical genius.....Really!
