.....when BitTorrent is running and downloading.

This only became an issue when my Eircom modem had broken and the new one sent out was set up. Any ideas on how to fix?

the most common reason is because BT uses a large number of simultaneous connections that your modem/router can't cope with.

there are a few things you can try (click here for more info), depending on your modem/router but if none of that works, you might want to think about getting a better router.

limiting the number of connections and/or your upload & download bandwidth in your torrent client so it doesn't saturate your connection might help though, so that's your first port of call.

EDIT: you should also probably make your way over to the P2P (Bittorrent etc) configuration & use discussion...ongoing (Only place to post!) thread, although chances are this will be merged with it anyway before too long. :)
