I was asked for my hand in marriage today...

    Yes, I was eating at a restaurant and upon digesting ya wan I was with went through her pocket and landed me with this bomb of 'Will you marry me?'.

    I just went 'wtf' in my head and after an awkward slience said 'err no thanks'. Then she just wobbled her head and promptly kept eating into her dinner.

    Now, what frigging relevance is my hand in marriage in order to eat in a restaurant? :mad:

    Thought Ireland was in the 21st century and why would a woman care about my hand in marriage? :confused:

    I am so confused by your post, please explain further.

    Like was this a long term girlfriend or a stranger sitting accross from you?

    also, did she say you had to marry her to eat in the restaurant?
