missed the afternoon session but just watched the evening games.

the biggest surprise for me was martin philips beat adrian lewis.wouldnt be that impressed with philips but its saying something that a mediocre bdo player can beat a top 6/7 pdc player.

good win for hankey given the form of newton.heard van gerwen was woeful against the power.

as was wade tonight who was hammered by o shea.thornton played very well and its good to see him hit form again because hes more than capable.great game between osbourne and whitlock.thought people might be getting a bit carried away with withlock even though hes decent aswell

great tournament so far.looking forward to phil and ted tomorrow night.

Is it possible for Whitlock? Without seeing table its hard to remember.

Currently he is on 0 points. Thornton on 4(& through) Chisnall & Osborne both on 2 points and have to play each other so winner of that game goes through I thought?

whitlock is out regardless.a shame because he is one of the better players to watch in the knockout stages.

Sorry lads, for some reason I thought that Chisnall and Osbourne weren't playing each other

So Whitlock is out which is a big surprise as he was one of the favourites at the start. He hasn't being doing the business on TV lately though.

Great game... wouldn't be a big ted hankey fan but good for the game i suppose...Ted needs to button up the shirt though:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 426 ✭✭Fintomiginto

Yeah hes being a tad flamboyant with that silky number

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,282 ✭✭✭Carrickman

That is the first time in ages I was glad to see Hankey win a game well done to him he played well.

I wouldn't be Ted's greatest fan but he deserved his win tonight. Taylor didn't play that bad,Hankey averaged nearly 104 in beating him! He's also after winning the crowd round to his side after last year's tantrums! The BDO camp will be happy tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,530 ✭✭✭shockframe

Yeah hes being a tad flamboyant with that silky number

Between teds buttonless shirt style, colin lloyd wiggling his backside and the bronzed adonis in full flow......my word.raging with jealousy at the crowd for witnessing that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 420 ✭✭KrazeeEyezKilla

A couple of months ago I would have thought this was one of the biggest shocks ever but Taylors recent dip and Ted's improvement made a Hankey win more likely. Even though Taylor wasn't his best he played resonably well. He had worse performances than that in this years Premier League and still never lost, he beat Barney 8-2 one week when he must have averaged around 92. Players just have to produce their best against him like Hankey did and they have a chance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

Unfortunatly now Wes Newton has to beat Taylor to qualify :( Even though he's played great recently, he seems to stutter when he comes up against the big boys in tv tournaments. After getting beat tonight Phil will probably get the bit between his teeth and really go for it tomorrow.

Hope Wes proves me wrong as I think he could do very well in the next few years.

Flowery Hole? What's that about? Never heard that one before. Love watching Mervyn King but hate when he's like this. would love to have seen yer wan tell him to cop on to himself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭dexter647

He's a total arse hole more like... And to think he moans about the crowd giving him stick at times... king is his own worse enemy

The last 16 line up starting to take shape now. All Interesting games ahead with Thornton v Jones,Anderson v Osborne,O'Shea v Jenkins and King v Wade.

King threw the toys out of the pram again tonight with his carry on in the Henderson game. The man makes it impossible to warm to him with his antics. Big Hendo comes across as a gentleman and he done nothing wrong tonight. Personally I hope Wade gives King a good hammering!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

I still don't want what King's problem was....even after watching ITV's slowed down and highlighted coverage

Chris Mason seemed to think he was accusing Henderson of cheating by standing to the side in front of the oche...to which Mason pointed out would be at the very least correct distance because he had moved to side. Also pointed out that Henderson had not looked down to see where his footing was, but was just throwing.

King, same as some other players and invite bad vibes from the crowd....then complains

fitton drunk !!! really hate to see that...darts doesnt get enough respect as a sport, and when the pros cant stay sober til after their match is annoying !! shame on you daryl !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭dartbhoy

Taylor binning the glasses worked for him tonight even though he's still missing more doubles than usual. Scott Waites was brilliant tonight with 3 amazing finishes in the first 3 legs of his game against Adrian Lewis and I just can't see Barneveld beating him in the last 16. A great line up of last 16 games for Friday night with Waites v Barney,Lloyd v Stompe,Baxter v Taylor and Hankey v Beaton.

Didn't see the darts tonight because I was busy watching absolute ****e in Landsdown Road. Was Fitton visibly drunk? How bad was he?

best of 19 now. Barney will be too strong.

The bdo players are used to these short matches but find it hard to hold there form over longer games.

    Barney 10-6 imo

Good win there for Terry Jenkins over Tony O'Shea 10-7. O'Shea started at a blistering pace and led at the first break 4-1 but Terry showed great experience to come back and win the game. Interesting to note O'Shea finished with a 101 average to Jenkins 96 average.

The crowd really put King off there in the decider against Wade shame on them:mad:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭dartbhoy

I was on here Tuesday night giving out about King's behaviour towards John Henderson but fair play to King tonight,he came on TV and apologised to Big Hendo for his behaviour towards him.

The crowd were a disgrace at the end of the King v Wade game when King was throwing at a double to win the game, the booing was a disgrace and Merv missed his 3 darts to win the game. I was hoping Wade would win but not in those circumstances.
