HD Multimedia Hard-drive?

I have an Iomega Multimedia hard-drive, but it's pretty much limited to being just a hard-drive, cos a lot of the movies I have are .mkv or .mt2s high-def files. The Iomega pretty much only plays .avi files. I'm looking for something that will store about 1tb of files and can play both of the above files to my 1080p tv.…

I'm looking for something that will store about 1tb of files and can play both of the above files to my 1080p tv. I'm looking through pixmania.ie and can't find any that list those particular file formats...

Any ideas??
