    Never been to this copper faced jacks that people are always banging on about. Is it a pub or a club? Also are you too over the hill to go there at 38?
    Personally I like pub and "music" pubs. But the big mega dance venues are too much for me now.

    upstairs and downstairs in cuba usually jst play the chart hit but of different styles. The roisin can be fun its usually packed though and has an awful bang of pretension off it at the best of times . I like downstairs , the bar is perfectly situated and usally the djs are decent and they have good gigs for free there too.

    last week i would have said bars hands down i felt too old for clubs, but i had a great time last Saturday night in the club,

    and tbh it was more fun then i have ever had in a bar!

    I hear a lot about it but from what i know the clientele arent very nice , i doubt 38 is too old

    Don't particularly like clubs and them 'modern bars' sound quite shít. Give me a traditional pub anyday, tbh.

    Ive not heard one person say club yet

    If your all such pub fans then why are you never in them? Clubs are generally packed on Saturday nights pubs much less so.

    Why?

    1) Most people will go to the club anyway so will save a bit of cash by drinking in beforehand
    2) Most pubs close too early. Those that dont have cover charges/extra charge on drinks
    3) For the singles, its alot easier to justify €5 for a drink when there is eye candy and far more potential for picking up a tasty treat for your troubles.


    Anyway, less of the lying people - you prefer clubs and thats that

    Im not sure about that one . I spent three years in galway for college and athough it has plenty of late bars the clubs were packed after 11.

    clubs, unfortunately the term nightclub in ireland is used far too much for what are really just disco bars. we dont have proper clubs in ireland, full stop.

    Seriously though, I like both and neither.

    Pubs and "clubs" around here are woeful. And when did this **** of getting soap "stars" of Emmerdale and the like qualify as a reason to draw a crowd? Get a decent DJ for a change.

    As long as the place isn't too packed you can make a good night of it. If I'm in a good mood I usually have a good, messy night and pull. House parties are the best though for the chat.
