Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My feet are still numb...

Is there an overshoe and magic sock combo that could keep my feet dry in heavy rain? I currently have a pair of endura overshoes and they are hopeless in a downpour.

Think I might wrap my ankles in cling-film next time.

Maybe this should be in Raam's fashion advice thread, but I'm sure the owner of these will recognise them:

I believe those are Captain Havoc's legs.

I cannot believe I know that.

Here is the best possible advice I can give: if it is raining, you will get wet. Learn to accept it.

Raam's level of directness hasn't been seen since the Jack Charlton era (route one - put em under pressure)!

If it rains you will get wet - brilliant!

A quick search for "clingfilm" and "Captain Havoc" brought up a number of images - only that one was safe for work though;)

I'm a fan of the sealskinz waterproof socks on the MTB.
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/sealskinz-hi-vis-waterproof-socks/

They are thick, so you may find they won't fit inside a tight set of road shoes unfortunately.

I don't think they are fully waterproof either (altho maybe I just have extremely sweaty feet!) but you get a kind of a wetsuit effect - the small amount of water that does get in will stay warm - with a normal sock it's new cold water coming in all the time that sucks all the heat away from your feet.

I'm also a big fan of sealskinz as even with booties your feet can still get wet so I find sealskinz the best way around this. As for the clingfilm photo, I went for a very long spin on a coldish day, I was about three or four hours from home so I had to improvise, I can assure you that clingfilm is excellent in the absense of more conventional items.
