Courses in Meteorology etc

There's a lot of expertise on this forum in relation to interpreting and reading charts of all sorts, and it's difficult enough to try to keep up with all the info and explanations etc. Apart from going back to college, are there any recommended online courses, readings etc on meteorology, that would give an eager amatuer a good understanding of what going on, what different models mean, terminology etc...

Very very useful site for the beginner which gives basic explanations on how to interpret synoptic charts amongst other things. It is aimed towards marine users but is very useful non the less
