My girlfriend has moved to Ireland about 6 months ago to live with me.
When she lost her job she applied to dole and got turned down on habitual residency condition (however was given a medical card). Was a bit of a struggle but now we are good again with her working somewhere else.

She is really keen to study here but between the two of us there isnt a huge amount of spare money so she would probably need help with registration fee's being €1000 and maybe gonig up etc.

She is planning to do an open university or night time course in WIT.

Will she be entitled to free registration fee and possibly the student grant if she was only doing a night time course?

If not, being a student coming from the UK what will she have to pay???

She sat her A levels in 2008
    and is 21

As a general rule only full-time courses are funded in Ireland. Historically all part-time education is paid for from your own pocket. The only support a tax relief scheme from Revenue on a certain proportion of the fees. The course has to be approved however.
More information on this is available here:
    http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it31.html
OU courses are covered under this scheme. However the OU courses delivered in Ireland are more expensive than in the UK as in the UK there is a government subsidy applied that isn't available to students studying here, afaik.

A good idea would be to talk to the Information Officer, Sandra / Corina in REGSA, the Regional Educational Guidance Service for Adults. Its based in WIT and can provide information on all funding options that might be available to your girlfriend. The number is 051 302287. You could also talk to the Adult Education Office in WIT. They can tell you what kind of fees and /or registration charges may apply in respect of their courses as well as details of staged repayment plans etc. Tel: (051) 302040.

    Hope this helps a bit.
