Nightflight is dragging ourselves Northside (just about!) for a one off gig
in a new venue that has got chins a waggin' since it opened a couple of
months ago. The Grand Social ( formerly Pravda ) has got all the basics
right - a sweet sound system, an intimate, well laid-out room and a lush
smoking area that almost feels like you're still inside the venue.

Once we had a good look at the place we immediately started making plans for
a party there, and we're not afraid to say that we've come up with the
    goods.....

Headlining the night is one of Ireland's finest ambassadors for the good
stuff, Mr Donal Dineen Esquire. Whether on the telly as the deadpan
presenter of 'No Disco' in the 90's or on his free-wheeling, open minded and
much loved radio show on Today FM, Dineen will always amaze and surprise you
with his sweet selections and impeccable taste. This is the first time he
has played for the 'Flight since an emotional headline slot at the inaugural
Airbound event in Croatia in the summer of 2009, and this time he'll be
going all multi-media on our asses with a rare AV show.

Local talent has always been close to Donal's heart, and we've got some of
the best around to help him whip the crowd into a frenzy of musical
banter. First up is Laser Tom and The Blast Crew, a vehicle for the musical
experimentation of Simon Cullen and friends. Formerly one half of late,
lamented electrofunkers Les Bien, this new project is all about trippy
21stCentury disco grooves and blissed out horn fanfares. We already
    think they’re a bit special…

Then it'll be hankies at the ready as Sarsparilla takes to the stage for the
last time. Damien Lynch has decided to strike out under a new name with a
new musical direction, so he's putting the Sarsparilla moniker to bed with
one last gig. So it's your last chance to hear his wonderfully inventive
melding of boombox dance music and creepy horror movie soundtracks -
definitely not one to be missed!
