The winner for this years Observer Graphic Short story Prize has been annouced and while I've enjoyed the previous years winners this was the first year that I went 'wow'. Stephen Collin's Room 208 is a great example of good storytelling matched with lovely visuals but also shows someone who understand the medium they were submiting to. The pages read best as a newspaper spread which given the main prize [other then the money] is having your comic printed in the Observer newspaper it's really great to see someone really thinking about every aspect of the comic. Pages are best viewed via Collin's website as he presents them there as double page spreads as they appeared in the newspaper.
