    Pretty much yeah. The idea behind the joke/comic is sound, just unfortunate to focus on the one particular part of the character that actually has an explanation :D A kind of **** cool explanation too.

    Even at places like r/pcmasterrace, I think it's very much done in a self-aware fashion.

    They're created for a circlejerk audience and designed to elicit one of those gentle snuffles that represent finding something vaguely amusing on the internet.

    You'll always get some eejit who takes it too seriously (cough) but by and large, it's satirising itself or being intentionally stupid for comedic effect.

    It's the same story on any message board with a homogeneous user base.

    I pondered on this cartoon for close to 5 hours and came to the conclusion that the little pokemon was a fossil before but the good professor left his head as a fossil/skull and it greatly upset said pokemon.
