3 wheeled biking in NZ??

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone's gone biking in New Zealand? The aul fella's heading over next year for the World Cup and he's always said he'd love to tour around the country a la Billy Connolly on his three-wheeler. I've had a good search around the companies websites over there but no-one seems to have these.

Anyone know how rare this bikes are? If people can rent them at all? I was in NZ myself a few years back and I definitely saw a few on the roads. Probably privately owned I would guess.
