bejesus, it looks like someone is in for a
    Teabagging
    !

great episode, you can really tell they're going out of their way to up the ante and imho they did a good job of it this episode. this certainly opens up the way for a lot more diversity in what they can offer in each episode now that
they can control the ship and have access to the full database and ships systems.
    .

not sure if i should be using spoiler tags or not since there's no
tag in the thread title, so best to be safe for now until i hear otherwise.

Best episode in a long time.

Brilliant episode tonight, nice and tense at the end as well with jumping off the spinning ship. Some great colonel on Rush action and it's about time he got a good knock about after messing everyone around for so long.

Anyone else think the bridge is a wee bit impractical. What happens if someone needed to go to the loo for instance, the entire bridge would have to be lowered then raised just to let them out.

Also, who's idea was it to let the woman drive? :o

Sure didnt Scott and Camille manage to walk right in when Eli and the others were trying to fly the ship so I'd say the corridor outside probably rises with the bridge

See, I could accept this if the bridge rose at an angle or if the corridor behind the bridge was perpendicular to it instead of parallel to it. Neither of these seem to be the case though and since the bridge just rises straight out of the hull of the ship it would appear to cut off any entrance.

Stargate Universe really needs to start addressing the big, important questions like how that doorway still works when the bridge is active!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,780 ✭✭✭JohnK

Well I dont think we've ever really seen the corridor or how people get to it so my guess would be that its a self contained corridor with lift access that just always goes to the correct level depending on if the bridge is up or not.

It was actually good. We have an idea of the mission, everyone knows about the bridge and actually a well written and directed episode.

Only thing is if they kill Eli's girlfriend I'm going to be pissed off. lol

Back to normal service it seems. Don't know why they had a 3 episode arch of waffle.

That was a rather solid ep. all round - redhead LA babe is sooo frickin' hot!....but what about that end?, will Knepper pummel her or "pump" her?, the Rush/Commander who needs a haircut scenes were good, the reveal of Eli solving the equations to them finding the bridge was quite tense.

Bit of action already, thank the stars!....a much more enjoyable ep. then a few others this season.

I'm still convinced Ginn is not legit on Eli, i think that end scene + others with her and Knepper point to something, i'm thinking now Knepper is her older brother and controlling her.

He got owned by Johannsen ffs. And Ginn looks like she can probably handle herself. She's have at least been through as much combat training as the medic.

Odd hypothesis, I might watch it again and try to place what relationship the two have. As for Eli I'm not so sure you're right; I stand by my original theory that she could be genuinely attracted to him and to the personality. Though I do suspect you're right in that she's going to eventually bow to pressure to sabotage and spy.

I don't know why it took so long for this to happen but at least it did. Great episode. Eli is finally more than a big bag of organs that whinges all the fecking time and manages to step up to the plate and show us why he is on that ship in the first place. Pity he's still whinges all the time like he did towards the end.

Hopefully the access to the bridge will provide some good interesting story lines.

Excellent episode.. Rush's secret is out, he got the ass-kicking he deserved, and they now have control of the ship

I just hope it doesn't turn into TNG or VOY now after that line near the end - ie:

"we're coming up on some planets that look promising"

    "drop us out of FTL"

Ship's Log, today's date... The Destiny has encountered a planet/alien of the week that we won't remember next week but until then, settle in...

Oh and one thing that's been bugging me about this whole "secret bridge" thing anyway - you find yourself and your team stranded on an alien starship with no obvious way home.. surely one of the first things Young would/should have done was have teams exploring and mapping every square inch they could access??

Still, these minor gripes aside this week's episode is a definite step up!

It wasn't a stumbleupon, Rush had to crack the code that even opened up to the bridge and they wouldn't have had a way of knowing that it was in fact the bridge. They may not have even had access to the adjoining corridor before the security was overridden. When he cracked the master code it probably flashed up the ship status screen we saw in this episode that gave Rush a notion as to where it was.

My bad.. I should go back and watch that one again :)

from what i saw the bridge is a hugh section raising from destiny, the bridge itself is pretty small so id say some of the corridors raise-up with hydrolic ramps up to that section,

excellent episode, this should give the show the kick start it needs, glad to see rush get a hammering, to bad he made it back to the ship, i thought it was weird that the ship fired its engines for no particular reason,

i was hopeing theyd get some information or even some kind of teachnology or weapons from the ship, sadly it wasnt to be,

its great now that they know about the bridge, so they can finally start repairing the systems, (in the background of course not over the next 10 episodes)

i wonder why t-bag was heading to ginns quarters alright, i cant see what exactly hes gonna do, it wont be long before hes escort finds him, and its not like rushs friend will help him out anyway, all ill say is that they better not kill ginn, if there gonna kill anyone kill t-bag cause in all honesty i dunno why they got such a known actor for such a small role,

They need a proper hottie on this show, Chloe and TJ ain't cutting it....it's a male show, you need someone like Ginn to keep the fanboys happy.

what i found the weirdest though, was just how scott and camil just walked in and said WTF is going on here..????
it looks like the bridge is on a different level, so elevator access is needed. it just seems a bit stupid them just popping in.

though i did have a good aul laugh when they were trying to drive destiny :D like children fighting over a new toy

    That was a glorious episode.

Real science fiction and great television epitomised.

I smiled about 20 different times throughout.

    SG-U's back baby :)
