Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The buoys will probably be quoted quite a bit over tonight and tomorrow morning so heres a handy map to show you the rough positions of them.

Its kicking off in Newbridge , had a gust of 54.7KM/H @ 01.53,

Can hear the rain lashing down too,

Pressure is 980.4 and falling rapidly ,

Is this kicking off early or is there a lot more to be expected tomorrow ?

Met Eireann is forecasting general gusts about twice as strong as that for tomorrow.

Just means it probably wont get any stronger than it is now but as MT was saying earlier the energy is already there now so it shouldn't change what is forecast for tomorrow.

Just noticed this thread. Really starting to howl here in Galway in the last hour or so and it's raining too.
Hope to god whoever left sheets of corrugated iron in the field beside my house weighed it down with something!

Probably late to be posting this for people likely to read this, but everyone be extra careful locking windows and the like, it's weather like this when scumbags tend to hit around here at least.

Wind has died down here in the west. Nothing like it was last night, Infact its actually very calm.

Models have not changed that much but the low appears to be swerving further south to me, and this could equate to even stronger winds.

The track was being shown on models as almost due east at 58N but already the centre has dropped to 57N (16W) which is going to bring it very close to Malin Head later today. Will be adjusting wording of forecasts and alerts slightly but what this means, essentially, is that damaging wind potential may be even more extensive than we had been discussing earlier.

There are no buoys any closer to this centre than the M4 and UK buoy to its west, and these are not showing the extreme winds yet. But pressures are continuing to fall.

One thing we don't want is the center coming down over us like what happened on Sunday with the last effort of a storm. Also the swirl/hook seems to be breaking up?
