Blustery in north coastal Dublin., a few very small trees down. Nothing remarkable about it really.

Looks like it could be peaking a bit early in the West?

Pressure rose at M4 buoy and wind speed dropped

Flash of lightning and Thunder less than 3 sec after here in Gort, Co. Galway. Wind very strong and gusty. Glad I put extra fasteners in the shed roof!

Sustained wind seems to have dropped, but some very severe gusts here still.

Not too bad here near Moate. Some squally showers and a blustery wind, gusts near gale force but nothing exceptional. I'm guessing it's near peak here now, and we're as inland as you can get.

It seems to have gotten windier here on the hills, showery with strong winds.
Just waiting for the rain to stop so I can do some work and stay dry.

At long last, we have a proper warning for Northern Ireland - severe gales from 3pm. It's already very windy here, but it sounds like there is worse to come:
Southwest then Westerly winds will increase to severe gale force over some areas from late afternoon onwards through into the early part of the night. Gusts of 70mph are expected, mainly across western counties, along the north coast and around Irish sea coasts.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to TrafficWatchNI.com (operational hours 07.00 to 21.00 Mon to Fri and 09:00 to17:00 on Saturdays) for further advice on road conditions.

Issued at: 1307 Thu 11 Nov

Must say, the double glazing really reduces the noise of the storm. Had to pop outside a couple of times to see how things were developing. The gusts are worth mentioning. They generally come with pelting rain, like right this minute. Squally showers i think they are called!

What time can the east coast ( Louth ) expect the worst of the wind?

Olli Rehn after flying home to roost has just been on TV to say that this wind might be a blessing for the irish economy....if we have enough structural damage Ireland's builders will be back in business.

is that low starting to move NE ?

More in a direct easterly direction which will keep the isobaric gradient fairly tight for the next few hours over the northern half of Ireland.
