How old are your friends coz that just sounds really immature. And can you just imagine what they say about you behind your back?
Accountants (particularly those in pwc) just seem to be immature little boys who haven't got out of the changing room mentality..I did engineering, worked on a building site for several years (I'm a girl). Not once was I ever treated with anything other than the respect and I still am.From a female point of view, I wouldn't go near idiots like this...prefer actual men who know how to behave decently and who have the sense not to do something as completely retarded as this....

    lol. The naivety!

Really, behind the 'respect', they really talk about how they'd love to get a good 'tarmaccing' off you.

Of course, if you're ugly, then having sex with you is used as a comparison of how bad things must be. ie. 'worse than having sex with d_dan?'....'jaysus i wouldn't go that far'.

If that is the case (hopefully not) the HR and/or IT people are dangerously incompetent and one shudders to think of what other personal information they are being entrusted with.:(:rolleyes:

There are photos of everyone on an internal directory, along with other info such as extension number, that each employee has access to.

Has nothing to do with shortcoming of the HR or IT department.

It's the herald, what do you expect? It's marketed towards "the common man". How I ****ing detest the comman man. This is NOT frontpage worthy stuff by any means.

Ha, uh, what? Have you read The Herald? It's a TV3 spin off, a rag full of stories about socialites and no mark Irish celebrities. There's nothing about it that appeals to "the common man".

As for these clowns, I imagine they are a bunch of "Haw haw" type toffs who still haven't grown out of their frat boy wannabe days in college.

This kind of thing disgusts me (just as much when it's females doing it to males btw).

Right, everyone knows that this sort of stuff is talked about in the canteen or the pub after work and it's fair enough to box that off as boys being boys. But how people can try and bracket putting it into a company email and sending it around as boys being boys is beyond me.

The lack of basic cop on from people that are probably considered our 'best and brightest' graduates is truly staggering, the reputational damage to PWC is huge, the story is worldwide at this stage, those lads that forwarded the mail will be history once due process is followed, the lads who recieved it had no control and will be in the clear. How anyone thought this was a good idea is beyond me, I'd wonder if this sort of thing has gone on in previous years and hadn't been picked up on.

And there was me thinking our most moronic graduates were competing on the apprentice.....

Oxygen.ie never fails to deliver very humorous topical articles

    http://www.oxygen.ie/page/3796
PWC staff excluded from list outraged by sexist culture

Female employees of accountancy firm Perv on Woman Colleagues (PWC) have voiced their outrage following the publication of an email, which revealed that a number of senior male employees of the firm had ranked new female recruits into a ‘Top 10’ list of attractiveness.

The email was heroically revealed by tabloid newspaper The Evening Herald, which managed to both deplore the ‘sexism’ of the men’s actions while putting the pictures of the lovely girls all over the front page of their paper.

“Personally I’m disgusted,” said trainee abacus mender Fionnuala Fennelly, who joined the company at the same time as the women pictured in the list .

“How dare these men objectify all these women. They are here because they are smart, hard working professionals who want to forge a career in accountancy. They shouldn’t have to be treated like that.

“Also, the state of them. I’m better looking than at least half of those birds. All the blondes and brunettes look the same, so it’s obviously just one guy’s taste.

“Obviously in my work profile I’m dressed conservatively but if they’d bothered to check my facebook profile – which has no privacy settings by the way – they would have seen a particularly slutty Halloween costume which might would have changed a few minds I tell you.

Senior PWC vice-president Fergus McFergus said that “PWC takes this matter very seriously. An investigation into the email is ongoing, and whenever we find out who grassed up the lads they will be in big trouble. This is a blatant breach of the ‘bros before hos code’.

“Also the fact that there were in fact 13 women rather than 10 on the list does not reflect well on an accountancy firm. We might have to stop letting the lads come up with their own bonus figures.”

Is this not the worst example of political correctness gone wrong??? Half the women on the list didn't even deserve to be on any list of attractive women 'cos they are absolute mutts.

If the list was a list of the top ten "attractive" guys circulated amongst a few girls in the office would the same stupid drama be made out of it???

This is a very sad sign of how overly sensitive we have all become, where any reference to us at all is perceived as a grievance and a whole set of formal procedures, solicitors, HR specialists, etc, then get dropped into what is a bit of a laugh.

Is it going to get to a stage where you will have to have someone sitting beside you in the canteen writing down your every word, in case you might refer to the girl at the table beside you and say it had crossed your mind that you would like to ask her out???

Again, if this list had ten men on it and was circulated by a group of women, the men would probably be invited onto the Late Late Show and have TV presenting deals thrown at them and a big laugh would be made of it, however Irish woman are so clearly insecure about how they look and childish, a big offence is made out of it...

Not really, the only place I heard about it was on Irish sites and to be fair most people don't care, they've got far more important things to worry about than an email that circulated around an office.

Once again, the Irish media has shown how good it is at making mountains out of molehills

Nonsense, it was the most viewed story on the UK Daily Telegraph site yesterday for a start. PWC is a multinational organisation, if you think that their international management reckon this in an Irish 'molehill' then you're being naive in the extreme.

    Youre missing the point.

Why the photos ? Do they serve any function and if so is it important enough to outweigh the rather high risk of such photos being misused ?

Who's making a big deal out of it? I'm commenting on a thread about a topical story. Maybe I'll post on a thread about Anglo or the liklehood of the IMF having to bail the country out later.

I think the lads who created and sent the mail are morons for doing so on a company e mail. I think that management in PWC will be fuming to see their company name splashed all over the media and that there will be consequences for those involved. That said, it's a minor story in the overall scheme of things, we're not talking about Arthur Andersen here.

eh not it won't. no business will go to the extensive trouble of changing their auditors/advisors over something so trivial.
