    Hi there!

I am kind of new this triathlon training business and I am wondering if anyone has used the skins compression wear, particularly the recovery tights? I would be grateful for any reviews or insights.

    Many thanks! K

    Thanks a million Tunney.

That first thread pretty much gave the information i was looking for - :)

Now to spend 85 euros on a pair of tights - the other half reckons I have lost the plot entirely!

Could be worse. You could be a fella spending 85 quid on a pair of tights!
I've a well worn pair of regular compression tights and find them great. The knee high compression socks are good too for supporting sore calf muscles.

I wear Skins shorts under my tights, mostly to help prevent chafing. They seem to work in that regard.

I don't know much about this compression clothing to be honest.

I don't know much about this compression clothing to be honest.

In the Sunday Times sports supplement section that they had an article entitled "Myth or Miracle ? The sporting fads that are either suspect of have been discredited."

They had sections on Nasal Strips, excessive amounts of vitamins, protein and creatine, hologram bracelets, ice baths, cryotherapy chambers and compression garments.

A man called Jonathon Leeder, a physiologist at the EIS (English Institute of Sports), who specialises in recovery techniques after training and competition, says about compression garments that "They snowballed in popularity. They may reduce soreness but there's no evidence of their value for elite competitors."

But the generally opinion of the EIS is that if you feel something works for you, even if there's no evidence it does, keep at it as it would be psychologically comforting to the athlete.

So maybe if you don't already use them, don't spend your money on them ?
