Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

IMO this was a more important match to win than Sunday. These are the type of games we need to be winning to kick start our season.

What would the possession stats of the last 45 minutes be?

Jesus Christ - get hold of the ball.

Why are we playing so deep, disgusting.

    Only one winner here.

    It's embarressing to watch

We're being destroyed. If Hodgson doesn't do something soon we'll be lucky to get a point.

Because the midfield aren't showing for the ball. Defence is passing about amongst themselves without an outlet, forcing everyone to drop back.

Direct result of Meireles coming off.

Lucas is being careful because he's on a yellow, and Shelvey doesn't have the experience for a match like this, no offence to the lad.

In fairness to Wigan though, they are teally pressing us and not giving us a second on the ball resulting in rushed misplaced passes.

True, credit to them, they deserve it.

Would someone mind telling me why Shelvey is pushing further up the park than Torres when we don't have the ball, leaving midfield completely exposed???

So the first 25 minutes don't count?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,522 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Get Poulson or / and N'Gog on.

If this midfield won't recieve the ball maybe Poulson will.

Something also has to be done to get Torres into the game again.

Torres looking a little dis-interested. Not chasing like he was in Sunday.

what are you basing this on?

The quality we have on the pitch perhaps?

I think we'll nick a second, if we get N'Gog on and attack them

For Shelvey who shouldn't be anywhere near the park in fairness. Not a game to chance a reserve player.

I was just gonna ask that !

I'll take a point the way we are playing tbh

think ngog should be on, can't see roy doing it to shelvey though. so probably be maxi who's hauled off

He's done one big thing wrong, one big thing right. He's been no worse than the rest of them.
He, like others, including Torres, would flourish in a team who intend to be proactive on the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,595 ✭✭✭baldbear

i'd take a draw!Wigan are the better team for a long time.

Poulsen coming on for Kuyt?????? according to commentator

Liverpool are making Sunday look like a fluke. We have been awful. Sitting so deep, never looking threatening and our passing has been dire.

He's been headless in fairness. His passing isnt good, and he keep running into dead ends. He's out of position most of the time too.

    FFS Poulsen for Kuyt.

    Fook off Roy.

Our best player at the moment is Konchesky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Poulsen's coming on for Kuyt.

please Stevie give your confused look to the bench, i'm begging you.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,743 ✭✭✭Revolution9

Poulsen for Kuyt? Did I hear that right?

No problems with Kuyt coming off considering he's just back from an injury but why not N'Gog or even Ecclestone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,522 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Poulson for Kuyt looks likely

    ffs, poulsen for kuyt? wtf.

Shelvey is at least constantly looking for the ball. If Gerrard and Lucas would come out of hiding and get back into the game, it'd make Jonjo's life a lot easier.

    Disgrace.

    We're chasing the game . . . oh, wait . . .

Seriously, N'Gog is on the bench. that is the change to make
