shot gun dry fire

    when i break open my shotgun then close it,without loading a cartridge should i hear a lick when i pull the trigger,or will this only happen when its loaded?as in the firing pin moving forward?

    You should hear a click, but dry-firing is a bad idea; invest in brass snap-caps.

    im not hearing anything,i close it try fire both barrels nothing happens

    Depending on the gun the second barrel wont fire anyway cause its cocked by the recoil of the first shot.. I light tap of the stock on the ground will cock it..
