Been in Berri, SA for 5 weeks now hunting for harvest work for the 2nd WHV. Got a day here and there but otherwise nothing. The season has been delayed and we've been checking harvest trail and the employment offices every day as well as going to local sheds. My question is is anyone on here currently doing harvest work? Is there anywhere we'd be fairly likely to find 3 months of work? Thanks.

your problem at the moment is you might be too late to the party. I spent a lot of time this time last year looking for work without any luck. Most of the harvesting jobs were already signed up for and snapped up by locals in or before Sept. You can always try ABB Grain (abb.com.au, recruitment@abb.com.au), but i wouldn't hold out much hope.

I've written about it here before, but specified work for the 2nd WHV doesn't just cover harvest work. Historically that was just the easiest to get for backpackers. If you really want the second visa, you're in the right state to try a few different kinds of jobs. I even did a few days laying concrete in the Adelaide casino which more than qualified. You only need the 88 days, so be sure to keep a record of all those "day here'n'there" jobs!

[edit:] meant to add, should probably move on from berri if you're not finding anything. pleanty of other towns with harvesting along the river, there's the barossa for grapes, also places south of adelaide for grape picking too.
