Ignorance of Personal Debt Crisis

Hi all. I am a journalism masters student in DCU and I am producing a radio doc about the personal debt crisis in Ireland. I think that there is a fixation in the national media with the national debt, bank bailouts and government bonds and that another financial crisis of equal proportion is being ignored.

I would love to be able to interview a few people about their experience of personal debt. Ideally I would like to speak to some families who are living very close to the edge and who would likely default if interest rates were to rise.

If anyone would be interested, please email me directly at kierancuddihy1@gmail.com. This is a chance for those people who are really struggling to maybe have their voices heard. I know people are angry and this is a chance to speak out and make people listen to the real crisis going on in the country.

The radio doc forms part of my course work and I plan to pitch it to a number of national radio stations. I hope I haven't broken any site guidelines by making this request.

I look forward to hearing from people.
