Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hilux Advice & Info Request

    Hi All,

With the encroaching winter I’m considering a Hilux.
Thinking along the lines of a Mk 4 (97-01). Although may consider earlier or later too.

Either standard pickup or crewcab models. Budget wise I’d have a ceiling of ‘bout €5000.

Will be using it mostly for road use but I intend to start building an extension to my house in the new year so will probably find myself doing some towing of materials and equipment from time to time. Occasionally also pulling a boat as well.
Some light green laneing, if it could be called that as it’ll most likely involve exploring some mountain/forestry tracks while out hill-walking or else shingle tracks or costal trails and boreens when out diving/surfing.

So if ye guys can enlighten in in regards to any of the following I’d really appreciate it.

Hilux weak points? Model features worth looking out for?
I’ve driven & used a few Landcruisers in the past on a number of occasions but I’m sure there are other areas that I should concentrate upon over that of 2wd vehicles.

    Thanks in advance.
