Why didn't Vidic get booked?

    Fergie-time winner surely? Come on!

Did Vidic not get a yellow there?

    He'd been booked earlier.

Basically the ref bottled it. No consistancy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    ha, so predictable.

if anyone's actually surprised you need a slap.

Fergie is a genius in these situations; he knows the psychology of teams, and what happens at 2-0, and has no fear in going for it, and instills it in his teams.

3-2 utd wouldn't even make me flinch.

Because he plays for Man Utd. Why ask a question you know the answer to?

It's so annoying supporting Aston Villa!

Lucky Lucky united soo. If proof were ever needed that there is a big team bias then there it is in evidence again? The lads never said anything about it either.

Fair play to united, great comeback but how they still have 11 on the pitch is amazing and probably wont even be looked at after the game.

Why should Vidic have been sent off? Not watching the match.

It's a fcuking disgrace Vidic didn't get booked for the celebration, what he did was the exact same as Young. Don't know who the biggest bottler award goes to, Villa or the ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Actually didn't realise Vidic was already booked.

    Shocking from the ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

    Why?
He celebrated just as Young did after he scored with the fans.

It should have been a yellow as Youngs was.

It would have been his second.

According to LiveScore Vidic was never booked at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

appalling from the ref, end of.

there's no other explanation other than he bottled it.

    let's be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

According to watching the game and also sky sports score centre he was.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,604 ✭✭✭herbieflowers

He was booked after the Young goal according to BBC.

and Villa drag their asses across the line for the draw that'll feel like a defeat.

Did Vidic actually go into the crowd like Young though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Good result for Man U, really did well to come back from the 2 down. Cannot be too upset really. Think the Vidic yellow that did not come will be a talking point.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

So is Vidic not getting sent off the reason Villa threw this away? Have we established that's the reason why United got something out of this game? I'd hate to think it was because Villa bottled it and United showed great fight. That wouldn't be bitter enough for me.

Under the letter of the law vidic should of gone . .

That said, its sad to think that players could get their marching orders for celebrating a goal. . Actually its pathetic . .

Good draw for united under the circumstances . . Ive said it in the past, Macheda is only 19 and has plenty of time to mature. The goal he took was superb. .

    Great 2nd half.

Chelsea now have have a great chance to take hold of this title race.

Poor performance. Was happy drawing at city because of how we played. Pissed off today with a draw for the same reason.

United would be some team if the turned up for the full 90 mins instead of the last 10-15 minutes .

Cracking game to start the day.

Undeserved draw. Worrying times for United. Shown up for our lack of skill without Scholes or the inform Rooney

Jesus lads...but before the game i woulda taken a draw..good play by all the villa young lads.

 Who said it wasn't a great comeback? All that was said is that United shouldn't have finished with eleven men.

No need to be so defensive looking for comments that aren't there.

Perhaps if he sent the team out with that attitude from the first minute it might be more beneficial.

just because people think Vidic should've gone, does not mean it cost Villa the game.

    but he should've gone.

Villa bottled it, Utd did what they always do, and i reckon it would've ended the same way anyway if Vidic had gone after the goal.

    awfully defensive there Arch ;)

Would certainly have an impact on the closing minutes of the game you would have to agree. As I said in the post just above yours, Man U did well to come back but even you have to agree that it was not only Villa that bottled it today. The ref chickened out as well. Man down may have made damn all difference but it could also have shaken Man U and with arguably their best performing defender off anything could have happened, particularly from frees and corners into the box.

I just find it hilarious that the "talking point" of this game from ABUs will be Vidic not getting sent off.

I was disappointed you were complaining about that instead of typing BOOM! when he scored :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

More points dropped for United. Worth remembering that. 2 points from 6 this week.

Fightback was excellent from them, but the fact that Hernandez, Brown, Nani and Vidic all could've seen red means the ref played a significant part.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

There must be a rule somewhere that Vidic is not allowed to be sent off against Aston Villa!

United didn't deserve to draw the game either...

Life's not fair. Especially the life of an ABU.
    :p

Dont care what team you play with...... Getting booked for celebrating with the crowd is the daftest "rule" in football.

Bad result overall for united. Dropping points like no mans business this season. Villa and the ref should be ashamed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

Nevermind Vidic. United should have been down to 10 men before his goal. At least one yellow should have been a red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

Anybody else find it hilarious when Sky build up cricket ?

    Gladiators me ass . .

I mean look at the size of the cup ! !

Unlucky Villa, deserved more than that. Encouraging performance by your younger players.
