    Hi all

I got a job offer from Apple about a fortnight ago and I've had two promising talks with them on the phone since. I'm going to have the final job interview with them next Wednesday (also on the phone as I'm still residing in Germany and paying for a flight plus return ticket is too expensive for me right now).

I hope I will get the job but I'm in a bit of a tight financial situation. They will give me a relocation package of €1200 but only after a three month trial period. I will be able to pay for the flight and maybe two weeks at the youth hostel in Cork but I've already agreed to rent an apartment for a fair price. I will however have to pay one month's rent in advance plus a deposit which sums up to about €800.

Do you think that a bank will grant me a loan or an overdraft of say €1000 if I'm a completely new customer on presentation of my work contract? My salary will be €1600 net.

    Hi Joran

To be honest, it's highly unlikely they will grant you that sort of overdraft or loan as a new customer. Some of the banks won't even give you a debit card until you have a proven track record. You're also making life very difficult for yourself by starting off in debt. I reckon you should see if a friend or family member can help.

Best of luck with the new job!!

Thanks for your reply. I hoped I could make it on my own but that seems unlikely.
