well one of the girls opened up a till for you when it wasn't that busy so I can see why you thought it was fine :D try standing in a que for over 30 mins with 2 people per 1 till one packing and one working the till while 2 other tills are closed!!!!!!

A till was more than likely opened while a till check was being performed - not because it was demanded by a customer. Tbh, I think you're being a little rude. Did you make a complaint in-store on the day?

yes of course in fairness the second supervisor was nice and apologetic which did make a difference, the first girl though was clueless in customer service, I'm not being rude I'm just sharing my experience. I think the clothes are fab but I came away from the store irritated and annoyed

That's why I was surprised - she didn't need to open a till for me, the other assistants would have taken me within a minute - but she did.

I can sympathise with you standing in a queue for 30 minutes, I'm sure it was horrible. But my personal experience was that it was a well run store...

and when people return things, its not because they are broke or damaged some people just return items because they have decided that they dont want them anymore , which is the case most times in f21

its the first shop in ireland and europe,i think people are just looking for reasons to complain about the place and i dont know why

maybe they changed their policy since I was there coz the second manager/supervisor I spoke to agreed it was ridiculous. She could see that the people were annoyed and I wasn't the only person that complained that day. We saw 2 other girls complain. When I said it to her I asked her to pass on my complaint and she said she would so maybe she did??

From working in river island, having 2 people per till works out a lot quicker than having one person on 2 tills. They can start processing the next customer while the first sale is being finished off which means you dont have a delay while you're waiting for the lazer transaction to go through etc.

No other retail store (other than the massive ones like penneys and marks) would have a seperate returns counter. If you had gone in to Topshop it would have been the same story, the queues are just massive in F21 at the moment because of the novelty and christmas. Go back in February and you wouldnt have had to wait 35 minutes

I would agree with the annoyance at the quality of the item you bought though. My impression of the clothes in there was they were pretty cheaply made. I saw bittons hanging off things and the likes. I'd expect that for the lower prices and stuff though. You don't exactly buy quality at those prices. That said, I do think the prices are higher than the clothes deserve.

    Love chupi's dress though!

First time in there this morning, was almost empty, so lovely to walk around and all tills basically empty (was about 10.30/11 on a Wednesday)
Am a size 14, and did find most of the tops that were L fitted fine, but not the jeans / trousers.
Ended up buying one top, and 2 head scarfs for keeping ears warm in this snowy weather! :)
Friendly staff... the layout was weird, kinda don't know where to look for anything!!!!

I've shopped there twice, bought a dress and a top and 2 dresses today. Both times found the fitting room staff very friendly and polite, despite being really busy. It does make such a difference shopping when the staff are nice.

Only slight issue is the sizing, but I seem to be having the opposite issue to everyone else.

I'm a size eight in tops, 10 in jeans or dresses, I've a D cup and large thighs (in portion to my size if that makes sense) And yet I'm a XS, and in the top that's a lil roomy. Before fitting anything on, I asked roughly what would uk sizes, and was told XS was a 4/6, clearly wrong, in small fitting brands I'm a 10, sometimes even a 12.

So by my body size, XS- 8/10, S-10/12, M-12/14, L 14/16. But no-one here seems to find that. And I haven't changed sizes, filling out my size 10 jeans a lil uncomfortably, sitting here.

    Anyone else find the same?

I was in there last Wednesday, was quiet when I was in there, same issues as everyone else, odd layout of clothes and overpriced for what they are. I also didn't spend too long because the colour schemes gave me a headache!

Im getting an addiction to this place! Have been in 4 or 5 times now and never leave without a purchase. Love the stuff, its so cheap and the sizes are deffo more roomey than other shops - Im a size 12 and Im usually a large in the likes of Bershka, Zara, Dunnes etc but Im a medium in F21. Staff are good too I have to say.

  • Finally got to have a look over Christmas....thought it was AWFUL. I was shocked at the extremely poor quality of the extremely boring/plain garments and most of all at the prices. The quality is rubbish in America as well but when you're paying 13 dollars for a dress, you don't mind too much. Loads of very flimsy things were selling at 30 euro plus, which in my eyes is unacceptable. The shoes/boots were horrible, 100% plastic (and looking it) and again, prices hardly rock bottom. The only niceish things I saw in the clothing sections were coats and jackets priced at over 60 euro and even they weren't anything special - I could buy the same at Camden Market for a third of the price. I went over to Penneys straight after that and was really impressed - much, much nicer clothes and shoes for much more reasonable prices. I really can't imagine why people would rather shop at Forever 21.

The only thing I remotely liked was the accessories bit downstairs - cute layout and loads of stuff, although again, most of it looked like tat to me. I did pick up a dainty little necklace and some thick tights, that was all I would have even considered buying in there. Totally disappointing! The main thing F21 has going for it in America is the price, and this isn't even the case in Dublin.

I have found things like flat shoes to be overpriced and some of the tights for what they are. Everything else I think is in proportion. I have necklaces, earrings, a scarf, jeans, trousers, 5 leggings, 6 long sleeved tops, 2 shirts, 2 camisoles, a dress, a shrug, 2 hairbands, a skirt, 2 knitwear waistcoats, 2 cardigans, 2 pairs of tights..and probably stuff I'm forgetting but I haven't found anything to be of bad quality or suffer from being washed. Overall very impressed with the quality and the prices. I have built up a bit of a wardrobe from the place and I love it all. I'd be wary of seeing something in a shop with a button off- popular clothes are often damaged by total savages- I have sene it working in Dunnes for years. Doesn't neccessarily reflect on quality, I'm sure it wouldn't be much harder to have the same effect by inflicting the same damage on clothes from Ted Baker or somewhere like that.

I like the layout of the 2nd floor- casual section, pastel section, footwear, twelve by twelve, plus size, quirky section..etc. Think it works well and I know it well by now. Third floor is similar. Ground floor yeah I don't like that layout- seems to be sort of love21 and dressy clothes at the front and sort of grungey clothes towards the back? Could do with being arranged nicer.

A V A, Hope this doesn't offend you but I was just wondering have your employers mentioned anything to you about mentioning the company in forums or online?
I used to work in retail and we were told by the boss to never discuss the shop on a forum.
I completely understand you are only saying good things about the company but you are acting like an official spokesperson for Forever21 on boards and your managers might not like that too much as in general the spokesperson would have a lot of training on what to say and not say when discussing the brand.
Again, I'm not trying to offend you but it might be something worth thinking about so you don't get in to trouble in the future:)

I agree with you. It was already discussed on another F21 thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=68871664&highlight=manager#post68871664

Guys you should really be careful.

I was very overwhelmed the first time, ended up going around aimlessly picking up clothes, not even trying them on cos it was so stressful. I returned most of the stuff I bought..

I was really pleasantly surprised. I read a bit of this thread and expected mayhem when I went in there. I went in at about 12-ish on a Wednesday and there was a crowd around but nothing more than I would have expected.

I got a gorgeous blazer, tops, jewellery, trousers, tights and other bits for €80, which I thought was brilliant especially since the quality seems to be quite good. All the staff were very friendly and I would defo shop in there again.

The sizes do tend to run a bit bigger but I think thats a whole lot better than them running very small like I thought they would.

hold on!!! we dont stitch or make the cloths, so why should we take the abuse or sligh comments etc!! i know if the item is faulty its our companys fault but not the sales assistants or the cashiers!! you get faulty items in every place you go in retail!!! so what , these things happen!!

You sell the clothes and you represent the company, so although it's not your specific responsibility, it's your job to represent your company in the right way, and that included giving good costumer service especially if it's because on a faulty item. If you don't want to take complaints don't work in retail, it's part of your job. I'm not saying that it is your fault, but the costumer has the right to complain, and it's your job to take the complaints. Not saying if they're being irrational that you should be abused, most costumers wont be rude if you take their complaints seriously.

I agree. My friend works for Boots, and she got an official warning because she said something on facebook about a stressful day at work because she was keep in late to check stock. She wasn't slagging anyone off, but a workmate reported her and now it's on her record.

Be so, so careful about what you say on here. They probably won't see it but anyone could report this thread to them and I'm sure they'd take it seriously if you're giving out about customers, managers etc.
