Expression through Landscape?

Anyone know of a Photographer, or even some other artist who maybe paints or something, who uses Landscapes as a medium to express some kind of feeling or story?

I am not exactly looking for people in landscapes but I will take that also. Really I am mailing looking for someone who tries to use Landscape Photography (or paintings) to express some feeling or message other than this is a lovely place

Any thoughts?

I think every serious landscape photographer produces expressive work as opposed to work that simply suggests that "this is a lovely place".

If you don't think "straight" landscape work is enough, you might find some of the following of interest:

• Edvard Munch
• Stephen Shore
• New Topographics

I feel that Madeleine Weber's landscape photos always have a strong spiritual element to them. Certainly they invoke a sense of calm and relaxation in me
