Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well deserved. Shamrock Rovers just weren't at the game.

Amazing performance from Kelly in the shoot-out.

Definitely the most entertaining game to have graced Lansdowne since the re-development.

Sligo certainly deserved the win. Shamrock Rovers played well, but just not well enough.

A good game, and nice to watch.

As I said in the other thread.. a €10 in, that's money well spent!

Fantastic result, electric atmosphere and a superb performance by Kelly for the shootout.

A far more enjoyable match than alot of the high profile matches across the water. Sligo really deserved their win today and I am deligted Landsdowne looked so well today with a great crowd that help create a really good atmosphere.

Delighted for Sligo. They've really improved over the last two or three seasons. They're a great cup team, but can really challenge for the league. I suspect they'll pick up one or two players off Bohs.

Great day out for the neutral, well done Sligo!

Was Arsenal Newcastle game last weekend and game today was far and away the better match, better atmosphere, more families enjoying a cracking game and the new stadium. Irish people love attending live sport of any level and if they feel like they are getting a good bargain attend in numbers.

Great win for Sligo, they well deserved it, their left winger had a super match, as well as Keeper for his heroics and Ndo who controlled midfiled and never seemed under pressure

Great win for Sligo, they were the much better side on the day. N'do was classy as ever, thankfully they didn't miss Blinkhorn and Ryan too much. Thought Russell had an excellent game too.

Well done Sligo, their football all season deserved to be rewarded and it was today.

Delighted for Neale Fenn espcially, Chris Turner as well. :p

Chris Turner got exactly what he deserved today. Heard Neale Fenn is retiring after that match tonight.

How was the attendance in the end?

Really? Who will he sign for next week then?

Delighted for Sligo, positive football from the first minute. Well deserved.

He'd hardly do it twice, no other club would get away with it anyways.

delighted for sligo rovers and paul cook they totally deserved the result great footballing side really hope they can pick up a couple of players during the break and challenge for the league.

great crowd the FAI deserve a pat on the back for that hopefully LOI clubs take note and take a gamble on lower ticket prices next season.

also Ndo really went up a notch in my book by mentioning his support for bohs as a club and their struggle with debt, really nice touch cheers joey!!!

Well done Sligo Rovers. We had a great first 5 mins and a great final 10 in normal time. Other than that it was all Sligo. As 0-0 games go that was a classic, great entertainment and there can't be one prem fan that looked at that and though, meh its still crap.

Didn't think it deserved to go to pens and in a strange sort of a way justice was done. Well done Sligo, everybody 2nd team :)

felt sorry for poor oul Dessie though. playing his last competitive game for Rovers and gets taken off shortly after being put on as a sub. but yeah, sligo far and away the better side. Not sure if Rovers even had one shot on target in the whole game. Even after winning the league there appears to be a real lack of confidence throughout the whole squad.

Fantastic game. Am delighted that is a really good match (ref the exception). Hopefully it might swing a few extras through the turnstiles next season. There is good football out there.... just not in the first division :D (longford town fan!!)

Did'nt think the ref was THAT bad. One or two very soft yellows but in general I thought he did well. Sending off was spot on.

Sligo well worth the win and congratulations. Rovers can't complain and it shouldn't have even made it to penalties.

    Cork whateverthey'recalledthisyear: irrelevant.

I also thought the ref was quite good yesterday. There wasn't much in the way of bad tackles and such like to cause issue for him and yes it was a red card 7 days a week.

went to this, great from the LOI to charge 10 in was brillant atmosphere for the match. the aviva is amazing stadium 36,000 is some effort and must have been great for the lads playing in front of such a large crowd. Delighted for sligo great all year and thought ndo was brillant throughout the game.

As my name suggests , yesterday was a very proud day to be a sligo fan. i would never had thought that there would be so many neutrals supporting us . Credit the fai for the ticket prices and although i was too nervous to enjoy the game it truly was a magnificent occasion.
thanks for the kind words from all.

Congrats Sligo. Great performance and great game. The atmosphere was great. Probably the best since the stadium opened. Great ad for domestic football.
