Whats the cheapest way to cover an open doorway to stop heat escaping?

I suppose thick curtains is the obvious one but is there any other ways?

If you are renting, get the landlord to fit a 1hr fire door, its their responsibility to make sure the house is up to code...

You can always stick up a rail & curtain :)

    Agree with this............Landlords responsibility.

If he/she wont do it,then hold back this months rent, until the problem is solved.

You are a tennant, but you have your rights too.;)

The landlord will probably say I knew it was like that when I moved in.
The door and frame, hinge ect was removed not broken. It's only now in the cold weather it's a problem

Is there any regulations say there should be a door?

Coughs and splutters and say that you have to go to the doctors and you will be giving him the bill for the doctor and anti biotics ,as the draughts from the door opening have given you the flu.;)

working land lord has rights too and one of them is for rent to be paid . You can't with hold rent for the reason above.
