Just a quick bit of info!!

Any traveling fighters who need a sauna as part of the weight cut can use:

    Clondalkin Leisure Centre,
    Old Nangor Road,
    Clondalkin,
    Dublin 22.
    Phone: 01-4574858
    Fax: 01-4576058
    Web: www.clondalkinleisure.com

We have done a deal with them so tell them your with Cage Contender.

For those staying at the Louis Fitzgerald there is a mini gym but no sauna so the one above is the closest.

Remember the scales open at 1pm on Friday in the Louis Fitzgerald if you need to check then adjust your weight. All fighters MUST be at the hotel at 14:45 as the weigh-ins start at 15:00 sharp. Cage Contender DO NOT give any weight allowance, 170lbs means 170lbs. Our official for these weigh ins will be Mr Dave Jones.

Change of Judge: Ian M16 Butlin is unable to travel this weekend, so head officials Dave and Peter have appointed Conor Cassidy from Strabane Fight Team as his replacement.

Gloves: Cage Contender have teamed up with Rival Boxing Gear (www.rivalboxing.ie) for the next 3 shows starting for CC8. All fighters will be allocated their gloves at the prefight medicals.

Drug testing: Please remember there will be random testing for PEDs during pre fight medicals. If a fighter is tested and fails he will be declared medically unfit, thus making him unable to fight

Fans: Feel free to bring your banners, drums, vuvuzellers etc etc to support your fighters. This event is being broadcast in 70 countries so let's show them all how good MMA is here in Ireland

Afterparty: There will be a gathering in NV Niteclub on Leeson St after the event, it's open to everyone and free tickets will be available in the arena on the night.

CAGE CONTENDER IX: There will be a ticket booth at CC8 offering tickets at a Discount for our next event in Belfast on 30 April. We appreciate that it's only by fans coming again and again that we remain in business, so just present your CC8 ticket at the booth to receive your CC9 discount!!

What's the testing process going to be?

As far as I know there's no WADA or IOC accredited testing labs on the island. Any test I've had to do has always been sent to mainland Europe and takes 3-6 weeks to get back.

Maybe I'm missing something but how are you going to get results back so quickly? And if you do go thru a non-accredited lab, and someone fails, and their name comes out as a result, you've got to be opening yourself to a whole host of legal issues?

I don't care...I'm 40 so I need my cholesterol done...a bone density check...and John promised to do my prostate exam himself...or Barry said something to that effect...I asked him about my 'deal' and Barry said something about me taking something somewhere...I'm pretty sure it had something to do with that part of my anatomy.

Look....test away...I need an eye test and a hearing test as well.

    So? Predictions?

I've been excited all week about this card.

So many fighters on it that I've not seen.

Pendred and Shannon will be a war...Pendred only seems to have them and will be hoping he gets the win.

Redmond and Shiels will be interesting...hoping Redmond gets a chance to showcase his skills.

Davis and Murnikas...last time I saw Davis he got an amazing KO.

McCombe and Holohan...love watching Holohan...always great.

Staz and Dargan...obviously always like watching guys in my own weight class.

Heather and Cocoran...will be great to see Lukey on the big stage.

Anyone else want to stick their necks out with some predictions?

Anyone able to help with buses that run out by the NBA. Failing that would anybody be able to either give me a lift from town center and back after the event ? Failing that once more any guys from the north that may be heading down , passing through Dundalk and would like some petrol money paid off let me know.

I'm deciding with inappropriate t-shirt to wear at the moment, elmo , cookie monster or banksy.

Oisin Coburn beats Sean Knox by decision.

Luke Corcoran pulls an armbar out of thin air to brat Stephen Heather. A nice schoolboy sweep in there too.

    More to follow.

Easy and impressive victory for Alan Corcoran of Kokoro.

    More to follow..

Vilmars erenbergs wins by tko. Good fight. Tomasz Drowal from that rival ufc show was in his opponent's corner.

Keith Coady wins rd 1. By guillotine???

More to follow... (again, credit to Barry's updates on Twitter).

Ian Cleary wins a match for Ballymun.. (Primal MMA)

    More to follow....

Alan Duffy wins by rnc rd. 3. Good fight that and his opponent was gamey

Dargan wins by decision. But I'm not sure to be honest. I thought a draw since there was a pt off in rd 3.

    Following the interval..

Conor Cooke beats Crosdale. Crisp boxing and tight gnp win the day.

Guillotine, and Ivory, live together in perfect harmony, side by side on the canvas, cageside, oh my, why don't we?

More to follow Via Barry on Twitter...

    Hoolahan wins by Decision.

McGregor wins by tko. Very, very quickly. Wood took the fight yesterday

Ben Davis kos Murnikas with the head kick from HELL!

More to follow... I'm in work tonight, but my heart is at CC.

    Sheil beats Redmond!

Pendred wins conclusively in rd 3 after dominating all 3 rds.
