Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quick one guys - a mate is looking for a laptop, nothing special just a good all rounder, but he does not have a credit card and wants to pay cash. What shop is generally good value that you can walk in and buy a laptop at near to online prices etc?

Can you buy Dells in shops? Which ones?
    Tx

The Medion laptops they sell in ALDI occasionally are usually ok value and I've heard they're reliable enough. I'd avoid pcworld/Curry's (same shop). Yes, you can buy Dell in shops these days. Don't know if they sell in shops at the same price as you get direct(online).

I don't think you're ever going to get online prices in a shop to be honest. your best bet would be to look for a shop closing down and you might have a chance.

He could also open an account with a bank that gives ATM cards that are also debit cards (other than laser, which is accepted nowhere online). A couple of banks have dropped laser already, I know Ulster Bank issue visa ATM cards. I wouldn't recommend using it for frequent online shopping, but it's useful for the occasional big purchase like this.

3v cards are also an option..they can be used as visa cards for most instances.

As said above online is cheaper cos they dont have overheads like rental, floor staff.

Would buying 2nd hand suit your friend?A good few for sale on adverts and other sites?

Stay away from pc world/curry's.Over priced.seriously over priced.
