Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Training loops/partners

I've just moved to Dublin and I'm finding sorting out decent evening training loops tricky. I live in Dun Laoghaire and work in D2. I've been out around Stepaside and Howth a few times but I'm put off by the traffic on the way out and back -- getting a quality hour or 90 minutes turns into a 2 or 2.5 hour ride once I'm out and back. Any suggestions? Good low-traffic loops around DL?

Anyone else interested in joining me? A lot easier to motivate yourself to go out with company. I'm reasonably fit and ride road, CX and MTB. Hoping to race XC and ride the Transalp next year so concrentrating on volume/tempo at the moment.

DO you have a car? Sometimes I drive from my place to Howth and do laps there and then head back home in the car. Cuts out a lot of commuting to and from where I really want to cycle. This would mean you could spend more time at at higher level of intensity (yes I said higher intensity at this time of year - so what!).

loops around Vico Road, Dalkey Avenue, Killiney hill road are good for some hill work and traffic is usually not too busy,

Also Rathmichael, Ballycorus, Kilterman, Enniskerry, Ballyman Road,Ferndale Road

Both Sorrento CC and Bray Wheelers have evening spins starting in Jan up and down a well lit part of the N11 which includes intervals etc, however you need to be a club member to take part.
