Saw the sign today but saw the state of the place(nobody working on it) so figured the sign was there quite a while.

    Old barbers shop I think.

It's only there a few weeks. They have the paper taken off the windows so I'd say they must be close to opening.

It's Horans health food shop. They have been on Roches Street for years. Great move by them I think. They have a great bargain table!

There was work going on in the unit beside Chocolat yesterday, also saw people inside Dineen's bookshop on Henry street and there were workers inside the Wacky Shoes unit pulling out the shelving one evening during the week.

No idea what's going into any of them, but good to see some movement with those units.

There was someone in there last night and it looked like they were making plans for the place.

What's the story there? Always wondered why it was just sitting there idle with ask the stock still on the shelves.

Apparently the owner just doesnt want to sell, has had loads of offers on the unit, but for whatever (illegitimate so us in the office think so) reason wont sell up.

In Rutland Street, the place that was a vegetarian café, opposite the Hunt Museum, will soon be Mexican.

It's opening "Friday" (tomorrow then?) according to one of the guys in there I spoke to this morning.

I don't know exactly what they will do there — I only saw the word "Mexican". Perhaps they'll be a full-on restaurant, perhaps they'll sell sombreros, or perhaps... moar burrrritoooos!!

The Triple Crown bar along with the video store and dry cleaners next to it have been getting alot of work done to them lately, a Chinese family have supposedly bought the buildings and plan to open one of the shops as a Chinese take away.

All the stock and fittings are currently on sale , https://www.donedeal.ie/stock-for-sale/previously-read-books/16247419 so looks like its moving at least. Always amazed me why it was left , closed, so long. I even think the books in the window were changed intermittently, but it was never opened. So odd.

There was a planning notice for ( i think? ) a fish and chip shop in the old launderette unit back in the spring. This would do well there i'd say - its a busy street. The council would really want to start building the housing in that ( literal) giant hole next door though. It was excavated over 2 years ago now.

Is there anything opening in Limerick apart from fast food joints, coffee shops, cheap phone repair shops, euro shops etc ? It makes Harlem in the 70's look classy!

It's all down to the donut effect. When you enable the wealthier folks to live far from the city, either in the suburbs or surrounding countryside, then the businesses in the city increasingly tend to cater for those who remain, i.e. the less well off.

Work going on in place next to Enzo's, inside against the wall I saw an outside sign menu with The Still Cafe on it. Is that what's going there or was the sign just randomly in there which I doubt.

If true I wouldn't imagine Enzo would be happy about a cafe next door

I don't see anything of real substance being opened. Plenty of coffee shops, fast food outlets, phone repair shops etc but nothing significant.

3 bars actually. Plus you ignored all the other's to focus on 1 e-cig shop that fits your point!
