Wasn't that the place Flan Costello bought to turn into a hostel?

Yeah that was upstairs. Far as I know it will stay as a pub now.

Going for a drinking crowd and also trying to open off licence

A regular haunt of mine when Pat Dowling had it. The place was a goldmine back in the day. Savage bacon and cabbage.

What sort of bar is the commercial?
Traditional, hipster, high end, funky or a halfway house for street drinkers?

He's going for a more traditional style, old tin advertising signs and a snug down the back. It's a really comfortable pub.

Great, must drop in after the Munster match on Saturday to see what it's like.

I was in there a few nights back. They've done a very nice job. They've given themselves every chance of success with that standard of refurb.

Yeah. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the door. The interior is very traditional and cozy. The operator(s) deserve great credit for bringing that building back to life in a high quality but sensitive manner. It just shows what can be achieved with the citys historical building stock.

Lots can be achieved with it, historic city centres all over the world thriving in modern times.

Didn't Dowling have a pub at the top of Catherine St, Desmond Arms I think ?

There is a notification for a new business opening on a daily basis in this thread and its absolutely fantastic. Wasn't that long ago that the Limerick businesses closing thread was in full swing. Long may it last!

Is it for music only? My mate was in there Sunday for the soccer and he said it wasn't open?

Yes, I assume that's the extension? Basically has a mezzanine floor above the bar in it for a band.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,773 ✭✭✭✭keane2097

That sounds like the normal smoking area

That sounds like the smoking area, which has been there for years. Last time I was in they were putting in a door at the bottom of the stairs in the smoking area into the extension. Was that open?

What kind of roles can we expect for STATS in Limerick?

On their website it only looks like entry level roles - Was hoping for Acc Manager roles if they were coming. There's no great contact sheet on the website; it's only for clients really.

    That's the regular smoking area.

They're building/opening a warehouse esque venue next door.

They actually have some decent roles advertised on Indeed at the moment, from a glance:

    Research Analyst
    Research Designer
    Support Specialist - (Football)
    Production Manager - (Football)
    Field Operations Manager
    IT Helpdesk

Must throw in an application myself! Anybody know where they are located?
