Any one know when the refurbished garryowen maxol station on Dublin Road is going to be opened. I see abrakekebabra is going in there too according to sign outside. I like a good kebab.

You'd need to go to the Kebab District for the best Kebabs, it's on 3rd :pac:

I spotted a noodle bar and Asian supermarket up near FSV the other day. How long is that there?

    Chance it folks.

I know the chip quality in the city centre branch has been questionable for a while now but I was happy enough with what I got today. The Fordes battered sausage has remained the same thankfully. I'm not a fish man so no comment there.

Is it the same people? Surely would have to be?

Yup. Peter Fordes. Slightly bigger menu. Same girl behind the counter. Food wrapped in paper and laced with salt and vinegar.

I'd say they don't know themselves with all the kitchen space they have compared to town!

We are going to have nothing but coffee shops and office spaces before long.

They're obviously looking to take advantage of the extra 700 or so workers that will be moving in to the Hanging Gardens complex right next door.

generally that area doesnt get great footfall but with the gardens international and bishops quay development you'd imagine its a good venture.

Nothing seems to be happening with Bishop's Quay but the Hanging Gardens is certainly going to do lot for the businesses in the city centre.

I spoke with someone who works there but they said that according to local gossip, Nordic Aviation is planning to create 300 jobs in Gardens International. If that's the case, they will more than double staff numbers in the entire company and 60% would be based in Limerick. The Limerick office would have more employees than the Head Office.......

I have my doubts that 700 office workers will be based in that building.

Not sure of the figures, but isn't Ireland basically the best place to have an aircraft leasing business for tax reasons? Something like 90% of the world's aircraft are leased through irish based companies apparently. So, in that sense, maybe it's not too fanciful that they would have such a significant operation over here?

At it's height, GPA, when it was the largest Aircraft Leasing company in the World had approx 250 employees

They're only taking the top 3 floors and 300 was the number quoted in the Leader. The whole building will be able to accommodate 700 when all floors are taken.
