JJB's closing tonight at 10pm...that's if the staff decide to hang about.
Just announced to them this morning.

Is that just the shop or the gym as well?

The whole shebang. I believe they were taking 1 month memberships right up to yesterday evening too the snakes.

The rumour of them closing has been circulating around for some time though, surely it was risky even signing up for a month lately as even their sports store upstairs was flogging nearly everything off at half price.

New jewellers, Daisy Jewellery, open on Chapel St. I think it used to be called Serano Jewellery before. Also Imasa have opened a second store. It's in the Castletroy Shopping Centre.

The Peckish on O'Connell Street specialises in Chicken by the looks of it so its not the above one!

Looks like just another "one off" fast food outlet.
Hopefully it's not just a kebab/chicken/pizza/anything place. They seem to dominate the town in recent years.

Indeed, I reckon it's a different one also solely because it would be highly unusual for a chipper from Cornwall to open their only other shop up in Limerick of all places. Not unheard of I suppose but unusual all the same.

Moonriver cafe has opened on Carr street, near the market. It is directly opposite The Office pub.

Artisan coffee and gourmet panini's is what is says on the sign. The prices look decent enough (€2 for coffee, €4.50 for a panini).

You won't go hungry in Limerick and that's for sure.

Chicken hut has the chicken market locked down, chick king didn't last long in town. It would want to be some pretty good chicken.

    It's gotta be the gravy

The Gravy just cancels out the healthiness of the Chicken. Pressure fried Chicken is 99% fat free but the gravy is far from it. :D

Michael in the Chicken hut does actually sell the breading of the chicken to other takeaways but will NOT sell it to anybody who competes with him locally for obvious reasons. ;)

I haven't had a Chicken Slut in a while(as the missus calls it for some reason). Last one I had was actually New Years Eve of last year.

Excellent. Had never heard of them until a few months ago when I noticed an outlet in Cork — didn't know they were a world-wide chain. Which unit on Thomas Street will they open in — anyone know?
