There was some activity in the old Instore place in CityEast yesterday. That is quite close to their existing store though.

No, youre right! It is opening in the old Instore! The woman in their current premises was saying it to my mother.

There seemed to be some renovations going on near the Wicked Chicken when i passed the other day. Hopefully it will reopen.

Seems a bit bizarre given it's proximity to their existing store and Harvey Norman who also sells furniture.

Better than the deli but its customer will be limited to school kids during the day and the odd customer.

O'Briens in the parkway do Aspall cider, I think I've seen some ciders in tesco in the crescent and coonagh cross.

I concur with the sentiments about craft cider

I think it's CeX that's opening! They have a shop in Dublin and plenty in the UK as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

Soft of, it's for trading games (and entertainment in general I think?, hardware too)

I think it's a second hand shop where you can trade in games for cash.
I don't think you can pawn them as such. Not sure though!

Cex buy and sell DVDs, CDs, Phones, Games, Consoles, Accessories, PCs, Laptops, Tablets and anything of interest to the wider geek community.

They usually give very good trade value for your stuff, but the stuff they sell is quite expensive so it balances out.

Having said that, great addition to Cruises Street. The shop is very big.

CeX: Buy, sell or exchange . . . . sounds great and it should increase the footfall of bargain hunters to the city centre. :)

The only downside, could it encourage the trade in stolen goods?

    Limerick store coming soon.

You need ID to sell anything to them.

    That's good.

I wonder since we don't have state issued identity cards to prove our identity in this country (except passport), what would pass off as acceptable ID to them?

we've the age card also. which is basically a state issued ID.

    And the driver's licence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,980 ✭✭✭Brennans Row

    O.k.

So this would probably eliminate most of the dodgy characters in town selling to CeX, as they would not probably have an age card or a valid driving license.

The Age Card is not an official state issued ID.
Passport and Driving Licence are the only official state issued IDs.

But its like all them cash for gold.cash converters shops same thing like.Even if they are stolen passport isn't gonna stop that

The age card is ID issued by the government
It can be used for travel on ferrys(or at least it could last year) also.

It's also very difficult to fake one, harder than a DL.
