Wang eh' going back a bit there. I still remember going in there and seeing people sitting in their cubicles smoking away to their hearts content.

which one? Havent regeneron taking the raheen site, and dell are still in the one across the road?

They media don't seem to realise that Dell also had a facility in Castletroy. As others have said it's the old EMF2/Wang facility rather than EMF3 where Regeneron are moving into.

Well the council have purchased the old Dell building in Castletroy and expect to sign a lease with Ardmore Studios, with a view to then purchasing the facility within a set period at an agreed amount, early next week. http://www.limerickleader.ie/news/business/business-news/limerick-s-ardmore-deal-could-spawn-a-digital-hub-1-6766696

This could be massive for Limerick. Fair play to the council if they pull this off.

Alot of work happening at the former Munster store on O'Connell st (next to Leavy's Shoes). Builders present and all the internal walls and the shopfront seem to have been knocked, serious work going on whatever it is

JD Sports which is great news for city and will be very handy instead of going all the way to the one in the Crescent

Are JD opening in the city? They all ready have Champion Sports on Cruises street so if they are that would most likely close or else be renovated into JD sports the old Munster Rugby Store wouldn't be big enough for then I don't think.

Edit: Checked they're opening on Cruises Street in the old Champion Sports building today.

I'd be surprised considering they have recently taken over the Champion Sports unit on Cruises Street.

i think they've just finished refurbishing the Cruises St place so they'd hardly be shutting that would they ?

That's been reopened today as JD Sports.

It actually opened last Friday. It was just the Limerick Leader's shoddy journalism reporting that it was today. I don't see why they're treating it like a new shop either. They just rebranded Champion.

UK cafe chain Patisserie Valerie are reportedly looking to open in Limerick, and according to @limerickcitybiz Regatta clothing are opening in the city. No idea where though.

Have they seen Arthur's quay lol?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,746 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

Aren't Regatta the Michael Guineys of the outdoor brands? Arthur's quay seems like a good fit.
    That patisserie sounds interesting

CoqBull, a restaurant specialising in rotisserie chicken and fancy burgers (and the odd craft beer) are opening in the old Aubars premises. They already have an outlet in Cork.

There are now some great spots to eat, and to a lesser extent drink in town. There's a paucity of top quality retailers in town in my opinion - unfortunately the city centre will continue to struggle as long as this remains the case.

Wow, Coqbull seems like a great addition to the eating options in town. I've not been to their Cork place but I've heard excellent reports of it. After the disappointment (for me) of El Toro (has it improved at all?) this could be just what we need, we're currently well served for Asian and Pub Grub, top class chicken and burgers will be great.
