Water is a pain in that it doesn't behave according to physics, it just spreads a little. If you excavate an area the water won't flow in to fill the hole, it'll just cover the sides leaving a big gap in the middle. The solution of course is to either get a lot of water buckets or to ask a mod to fill in the hole for you.

There was a major Mod update tonight, Most servers are down...

Ours is ok now though

I'll take a look tomorrow, hopefully theres an update
