Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Toshiba Folio 100 vs Apple Ipad

I had to provide demos of the Toshiba Folio 100 today for work and I must say, it's great craic to play with. Plus it has the advantage of USB, HDMI and the mini USB for cameras over the current version of the Ipad. Not without it's problems though as it runs Android v2.2. One or two bugs to be ironed out, but all in all for me I'd prefer the Tosh over the Ipad given it's features.

What is a real let down for the Toshiba is their app store at the moment, but on the upside, development for Android is for more open than Apple. Anyone have experience of both as the closest I've use to the Ipad is it's little brother, the Itouch, full of fun apps, but as far as functionality goes with respect to some things, not what I'd go for.

The Toshiba Folio was very publicly dropped by Dixons and PC World after just a few days on sale. Apparently due to high numbers of returns and general dissatisfaction with screen quality etc.

With the initial release of the pad and in a race to the market with additional features over the IPad, it maybe unacceptable to any company, but was expected. Toshiba may have made such a move to get to the market first with both USB, HDMI and 3g Connectivity giving it a head start on the Ipad. All they can do now is improve and re-release the product again, but from what I've found is a genuinely good product.

Yeah, I heard the screen is pretty poor. Crap viewing angles as well as many other problems. You should be able to get onto the android market (is that what it's called) once they are running gingerbread.
