I saw this on the irishtimes.com web site regarding a former county council employee who claimed €63k fraudulently over a 6 year year period, (allegedely, as it hasn't been proven yet!).

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2010/1118/1224283626282.html

Looks like he forged signatures on expenses claims and got nabbed.

I wonder was it cllr Frank Durcan that collared him or the internal control department in the council? I see that he identified one official who claimed €28k in travel expenses in 2008.:eek::eek:

Nothing on Mayotoday, MWR regarding this either.....

IMHO this matter is now before the courts, is sub judice, and should not be discussed on these boards.

MOds, if you propose allowing this thread continue take legal advice.

    Nuac,

I am only commenting on what's been reported, hence the link to the Irishtimes website.

I accept the point your making.

I know the man in question. Although I thought when I heard it first during the week that it must of been true, I have heard many reports during the weekend which seem to think otherwise. Alas, this is not the place for such talk.
