    Hi guys,

With my recent Garmin purchase, I got one of those sticky discs to put on the dash so I could put the mount on the dash rather than on the window. however, it wont stick! Largely due to the curved surfaces etc.

So, my question, anyone got one of these Portable Friction Mounts from Garmin? Are they any good? Do they work? If you swerve or something will they move?

Any advice / help would be very much appreciated before I go and buy one.

    Rgds

You mean the bean bag mount? I have one, and find it very good. Mine's never moved under braking or hard steering inputs, but full-bore acceleration does occasionally bring it down. There's quite a slope on my dash, though.

Those bean bag mounts hold anything. After all, They were originally designed to hold the old Street Pilot

    Guys,

This feedback is just what I wanted. Thanks a million.

I didn't realise it was a bean bag! I'm curious as to how it stays in place if its not 'stuck' or 'sticky' though!

Think I will be sticking in my order this weekend. Hopefully it never falls off though or it will wipe out the screen for my handfree kit! Fingers crossed!

    Many thanks,

    Rgds

It's got a 'grippy' lining on the bottom.

See here for a review of it ...
