Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Winter gear recommendations

I recently moved back from Italy. I need recommendations for windproof face mask and a windproof thermal jersey/jacket. My size is heavy - 46 inch chest. Had difficulty with Italian jacket sizes but didn't do much winter cycling - too much fog and snow. Currently using Alturra nightvision rainproof and bib tights from Italian brand and three layers of cotton/synthetic mix. Thanks.

merino long sleeve base layer (chainreaction)/good quality skull cap under helmet/good termal socks and gloves that lot will keep you toasty.

Instead of a mask use a neck gaiter and a hat. like this guy....

You will have more possible permutations in order to achieve the correct level of warmth.

I bought a Spin 11 Thermal jacket last winter for spins on my hybrid. I then bought a road bike and I thought the jacket would be too heavy but it's perfect for winter use and Sunday morning spins. I think Spin 11 usually do club clothing but this is just a plain blue jacket.
BBB have nice under-helmet beanies with ear covers. I also use a neck gaitor from a hiking shop.
Shoe covers would be very useful too.

I tried a dhb face mask. Not good in the cold. Too many mouth holes. What and where for a good cold-proof gaiter?

Any camping shop should have a few different types. I got one for €6 in army bargains on capel st (dublin).
