Grim news this morning n the announcement Temple Spa has been put into receivership by ACC bank.

I always thought this development was a brave move and its a shame as i believe it was a fantastic place. It joins the long list of Hospitality sector Establishments in receivership which include hotels, Golf Courses, Restaurants & Bars. I am beginning to wonder is Ireland's hospitality sector beginning to disappear.

Total shame. Had bought a voucher for it only two months ago. Girlfriend used it last month thankfully. Was a nice place. Maybe it was a bit too out of the way from Moate or a large town. It was expensive too i have to say!

Recieved this e-mail from them this morning:

Dear Friends,

We are saddened to have to inform you that Temple Spa has been placed in receivership.

We deeply regret having let down our employees, customers, suppliers and supporters by this turn of events.
The receiver is continuing to run the business as a going concern under his management. The existing staff have been retained and are committed to maintaining the same level of customer service that has been the hallmark of Temple since the doors first opened in 1987.
While we have been removed as day-to-day managers / employees of the business, we give our full support to the receiver and all of our employees who have been retained by him to continue on the business.
There was a full house of guests last weekend and excellent bookings going forward and we are confident that everyone will receive the same level of service and quality of experience as has always been given.
We ask you as friends and supporters of Temple Spa to continue to support our employees and the management team. Josephine Feeney, head therapist, is acting general manager. Peter, Betty, Catalin, Niamh and Fiona will be there to welcome you in the restaurant, Anne, Linda, Lillian and Anne Marie on reception; Patricia for yoga, Daryl and Ger for Tai Chi.
Mia, Alan and Jacinta will be producing their consistently stylish and appetising cuisine, with the help of Sebastiana in the kitchen; Annie, Livia, Margaret and Martha maintaining their pristine standards of housekeeping, Ger the grounds, Tom the garden; and Tanya, Mary, Cathrina, Michelle, Liz, Helen, Orla, Amanda and the remainder of our therapy team will be looking after you (- with Denise looking after affairs back of house).
Please phone the spa at 05793 35118 or email reservations@templespa.ie for any enquiries you may have and to make your reservations.
In the meantime as directors of Temple Spa, we are making every effort we can to recover our company, to meet our indebtedness to our suppliers and ensure the future employment of our loyal team.
As an interim measure, for our own income, we are re-opening three rooms in the original Temple house for weekend breaks, starting this weekend. We will be delighted to see or hear from any of you who may have fond memories of staying in the house before or would like to try it out.
Any words of support at this time will be gratefully appreciated, and any expressions of hurt or disappointment will be acknowledged.

Yours sincerely,

Declan & Bernadette Fagan

Pretty Grim and sad email from the Owners. Temple Spa was indeed very innovative and had an excellent reputation. Sadly it is doubtful the owners will recover the business particularly given the state of the Hospitality sector generally. It was gracious of the owners to acknowledge their suppliers, sadly something not seen in the sector generally. I for one wish the proprietors and staff well.
