shooting gloves?

looking to buy a decent pair of warm shooting gloves. would prefer if they were fingerless on the index finger and thumb only but any suggestions will be appreciated. any good websites in ireland or ones abroad with decent shipping rates will be fine.

Good quality, warm (ish), anti-slip palms. Can be gotten in most gun shops.

You may wish to search for gloves used by bowhunters. You'll want much more dexterity in gloves when bow hunting than with rifle/shotgun. I find that for the Irish weather, they work fine. Sometimes, however, I use a thick pair on my freehand and a light glove on my shooting hand.

Do you want heavy gloves - like for the sneachta or light?

Maybe a pair of liners would do?

Anyhow, here are some Mad Dogs - they run a bit small, but the finger tips have a nice friction pad.

I have a pair of seeland gloves for several years now.
The trigger fingers are soft so you can get a good feel of the trigger.
And they are washable.

I use a pair of deerhunter gloves got from Stakelums in Thurles. They have a 'Thinsulate' lining and say they are water proof. bout €30

trouble I find with most gloves is that they dont go far enough up the sleeves, water runs down your jacket and ends up trapped in ur wrists of your gloves !! Have pair of barbour neoprene gloves at the mo, they do the job grand

Get a roll of silowrap tape, tape up the joint.
It may be crude, but very effective. Ask any Biker and they will tell you same.

Oh they look spot on and cheap. might try and pick up a pair of them as a stocking filler........for myself

Mine were free from work so cant argue with price!:D used em last night in the freezin cold and they were not too bad, tips of open fingers were frozen. great grip on them and very comfortable

Was out this morning and within4 mins of leavin the jeep me hands were froze solid couldnt even shove up the safety anyhoo im lookin for warm gloves that aint bulky cause im using a doudle trigger sbs guess they have to be weather proof any suggestions

Bought 2 pairs neoprene gloves in Aldi about 2 months ago, can expose thumb & index, wore them all day today, they got wet & cold , I didn't, about €5.95 per pair, better than gloves I have paid €30 for and thrown out

8 - 9.5 = Medium hands/fitting
10 - 11 = Large hands/fitting

Within each size is also a size. So i use 9L. I have average size hands, but need a larger palm area. My mate has E.T. fingers, but (almost) same size palms so he uses 9.5XL.

I take a size 7 in a glove, main reason i like my glock as opposed to a hk as it fits better in my hands.

A tight fitting glove gives more control,
I wear gloves as part of my occupation and I discovered years ago better to have your finger tips sensitive if you want to do intricate work, like operate a 2lb trigger on a rifle.

The Seeland gloves i have are quite warm but the trigger finger is quite sensitive, and they go through the washing machine well.
They are green which is an added bonus
