Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wanted to get your thoughts on this...

I have a decent job and is pretty secure(private sector).
I don't have any debt to speak of and no family to provide for.

My question is, if you were in the same position as me, would you stay here or get the hell out?

Decent secure job = stay ...

    why would you leave

I've been asking myself the same question! I'm only 23 so I've never been in this position before! I suppose I'd be worried about taxes going insanely high and I want to get on the property ladder, but I would be worried, just in case borrowing rates went through the roof or I could find anyone to rent rooms out etc. etc...

I just really would like to hear your thoughts on it!:)

I think youre buying into the doom and gloom thing too much.
Hate to go against the grain but things are not fcuked as many people would have you believe! For people in secure employment who havent had wage cuts life has never been better. Almost everything is cheaper than 3-4 years ago!

If you have a job as you do, then stay and live well!

There's no such thing anymore. It was a creation of the Celtic Tiger era. It's called "Buying a Gaff" now.

My thoughts are if you are still talking about "the property ladder" in light of what's happened, you need a good sharp knock to the head!

We are completely low taxed compared to the rest of Europe, if they go up it won't be the end of the world. Deal with it!

No, just the understanding god doesnt exist, and if he does, hes an incompetent dickhead.

The Irish taxpayer should b given to US research 2 test for the "unbelieveably stupid" gene! It would put millions back in2 the kitty. Also sell the new T2 at Dublin airport 2 the IMF as there new welcome lounge for welcoming all there pals coming over.

Is this your way of volunteering to be first in line?

A protest has been organised for 1pm at Government Buildings. It will be a peaceful and dignified protest. We ask everyone who will come along to come with 2 A4 pieces of paper with the banner - Democracy Now!! Elections Now!!

It is planned to keep up this vigil everyday until an election is called.

    Spread the word

Do you have any other alternative rather than pass smart and snide comments?

if you have nothing constructive to say than dont say anything.

Is this some kind of siptu/eirigi thing or what ?

Just once I would like to see a non affiliated general protest of citizens against this govt that wasn't organised by or hijacked by either of those clowns.

Are you against free speech? Not really a good sign for someone trying to organise a protest march in the name of "democracy".

If you are expecting people to turn up to give support then this is a fair question that should be answered.

    Try the politics forum OP.
We're only interested in thanks and ironic self hatred here.
