Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I always presume anyone that gives that answer speaks with their tongue tucked into their bottom lip.

Anyway FWIW - best I've seen live Chris Rock and Jimmy Carr.

Best dead one - Bill Hicks.

Best I'd love to see live - Doug Stanhope, Daniel Kitson.

Finally, somebody else on the internet who thinks Bill Hicks isn't funny. He's quite boring actually, in my opinion. Is this seemingly universal acceptance of him as being a legendary comedian in some way attributable to a scene in the 1999 film "Human Traffic"?

Anyway, my favourite stand-up comedian is definitely Jimmy Carr. A true professional who tells extremely funny and clever jokes, without being a complete dick to audience members.

Frankie Boyle is very funny also, but his depressive, bleak outlook can sometimes get old and the fact that he doesn't seem to enjoy what he does or appreciate how much he is liked, lessens my ability to enjoy watching him.

    Jimmy Carr
    Frankie Boyle
    Dylan Moran.

In that order. Go to Jimmy every time he's in Dublin and he gets better and more obscene every year. He'l find it hard to top his 'most offensive' joke from this year. I'm also always surprised how many women go to his shows considering the content.

Went to Frankie in Vicar St and thought he was lethal. Makes **** of people in the audience who give him grief, and indeed those who don't.

Saw Dylan in Vicar too and some of the surreal comments he came out with for hilarious, and you know it was just made up off the cuff. Legend. Also the way he took Johnathon Ross to absolute pieces when he was a guest on his show years ago was perfection itself( I dont think he ever had him back). Id advise anyone who hasnt seen that to youtube it. Brilliant.
