Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Saw an article recently about a woman sterilising junkies in the Uk, any one else see it?

But there are laws that deal with loitering and intimidation. So if a begger or junkie decides to set up camp sitting underneath an ATM or stays in the same spot by a shop entrance or eatery entrance, then the Gardai can move them on or charge them if they persist.

Also the beggers/junkies who get aggressive in their methods can be charged if they are witnessed being aggressive by the Gardai or if a person is willing to make a statement to the gardai after an aggressive act.

Sorry for the late reply to this, just got back to the thread now.

It's all well and good saying that Gardai can move the person on, but without a witness who is willing to give a statement (which frequently happens) or the Garda personally witnessing intimidation a prosecution cannot be taken.

No wonder i hate limerick ... all of ye are too stuck up to even show abit of emotion to these people.Look ye think ye have problems how about the junkie alco who has no family no home and has to feed their addiction its not there fault like next time you walk past junkies alcos or homeless people why not ask your WHY did they turn out like that...Maybe they weren't grace with the childhood ye had maybe they were doomed from the very beginning.

Pity the junkie who thought it was ok to go into where my mother used to work and hold her and her work collegue at knife point while he robbed all their jewellery to feed his addiction didn't show a bit of emotion towards them. Not only were they terrified and upset, and affraid at work from that day on, 2 women in their 60's I might add, that charming junkie also thought it was ok to take my mother's most prized possesions, her wedding and engagemnet ring, all so he could get a fix. So thanks to that junkie now that my mother has since died I don't have her jewllery to pass on to my daughters. So if you think people should feel sorry for the poor aul junkie then you're mistaken.

The only person responsible for a junkie being a junkie is themselves, not society, not their childhood, not being homeless. They're the person that's shoving the needle in their arm.
